Directions:
From N11 (recommended): Exit the N11 at Kilmacanogue. Head in the direction of Enniskerry by taking the Roundwood road R755 from Kilmacanogue. About 1.6km from Kilmac, there is a turn right signposted for Enniskerry. Take this turn and head along the road. Take the second left after 1.2km. The turn should be signposted. This is the old long hill road. Just before the steep ascent, there is a car park on the right. This is the car park for the event. The car park should be signposted.
From Enniskerry: From Enniskerry, head south in the direction of Kilmacanogue. 3km along this road, there is a turn right for Powerscourt waterfall. Pass this turn and head up a short steep hill for a hundred metres. Take the next turn right for old long hill road. This turn should be signposted. Just before the steep ascent, there is a car park for the event on your right.
New club members (and old!)
Beginners and new club members are particularly welcome. If you need help getting up to speed on orienteering, don't hesitate to ask me. If I'm busy, I can track down another helper to spend time going through things with you. Or ask any club member who happens to be floating around. Also consider offering to help out at the event as a way to get to know your fellow club members and to get free event entry. Do not worry if you haven't been a helper at an orienteering event before, there will be people there to show you the ropes.
Post-race:
I nominate the Glencormack Inn, Kilmacanogue for post-race refreshments.
- Kevin O'Riordan.
